One note on the samba, OpenWRT has 2 users, root and nobody. That's it. by default, anonymous samba users are nobody, and so only have (ro) access to the default samba share. the simplest way to get (rw) access in samba for clients is to make the guest/anonymous samba user root. It's a really bad practice IRL, but it is a quick-n-dirty fix for an appliance.
